Yukon Government announces funding to support our 2016 Festival

We’re excited to announce that the Government of Yukon is providing $90,000 of funding for our 2016 Festival in Whitehorse from June 9-18, 2016, which will partner with the Yukon Arts Centre. Yukon’s Minister of Tourism and Culture, MLA Elaine Taylor, made the announcement earlier this week alongside festival staff, members of the Whitehorse Steering Committee, and local arts supporters.

The funding will help Magnetic North create artistic and economic opportunities for Canadian theatre talent in Whitehorse.

“Yukon is proud to have such a diverse cultural sector,” Minister of Tourism and Culture Elaine Taylor said. “Hosting the Magnetic North festival will provide tremendous opportunities for existing and aspiring theatre talent in Yukon, while attracting festival-goers and talent from across the country.”

Our thanks to the Government of Yukon, the Yukon Arts Centre, our Whitehorse Steering Committee, and all community members who’ve shown support for bringing the festival to Whitehorse. To read the full Yukon Government press release, please click here.
