In the spring of 2009, four artists in their late 20’s and early 30’s set out across Canada to interview one hundred people, ages 1 to 100 about their experiences and beliefs around kismet – fate & destiny. The personal stories they discovered on the road are the centre of this intimate gem of a show that blends the interviews themselves with the experience of the travellers.

The Chop is a young, West Coast company making skilled, careful use of both recording technology and the words of ordinary people, creating exquisite portraits of the many worlds we inhabit. Director Anita Rochon is the recipient of the 2010 Siminovitch Protégé Prize for Directing.

“Hilarious, moving, and always generous.”
