Compass Points

2017 Compass Points Registration will be open in the new year, please check back in 2017.

Compass Points is an intensive program designed to inspire and nurture the careers of emerging artists from across the country. It provides a firsthand introduction to the professional theatre industry and fosters lifelong collaborative relationships among a peer community of Canada’s next generation of theatre creators. What Past Participants Are Saying

“I have had a pretty successful couple years, but it was Compass Points that gave me the knowledge to get those gigs, the perspective on how the arts economy actually works in Canada, and the advice on how I could fit into it…Compass Points fills in a lot of gaps an artist fresh out of school encounters when trying to create work in a professional setting, and for that I am very grateful.” – Tyler Klein Longmire, Alberta

“I am now connected to a network of artists across Canada, many of whom I’m sure I’ll soon be collaborating with, and I now have a much greater vision as to how to move forward in my artistic practice as a young artist.” – Milton Lim, British Columbia

“Since attending [in 2010], I have written over five plays that have been produced.  Many of the skills learned within [Compass Points] have assisted me in my work at the Living Arts Centre, Theatre Ancaster, STEPS Performing Arts Studio, Theatre Aquarius and within my own production company.” – Laura Ellis, Ontario
