In 1985, while she was a student at the National Theatre School, Brooke Johnson met Pierre Elliott Trudeau at a school dance. It had been some time since his famous walk in the snow and his pirouette behind the Queen. Now out of the public eye he was sliding down ice-covered staircases on Mont Royal and checking out raucous wine bars, beginning a lifelong friendship with Brooke.
