Jake is a cranky, 80-year-old World War II Veteran who reluctantly returns to Normandy, France, for the 60th anniversary of D-Day. There he meets a precocious French girl Isabelle, whose inquisitive nature prompts Jake to confront some old ghosts - notably the wartime death of his eldest brother.
Performer Julia Mackey traveled to France on the 60th anniversary of the Juno Beach landings and interviewed Veterans and locals alike. This touching and heartfelt play opens in the Barney Danson Theatre at the Canadian War Museum on June 6, 2009, the 65th anniversary of the fateful D-Day landings.
