Theatre-lovers can purchase a ticket in advance at regular price, or pay-what-you-can at the door for the following shows:

From Crow’s Theatre and Mammalian Diving Reflex in Toronto comes [boxhead], by Darren O’Donnell, an existential, symbolist romp from the creator of Diplomatic Immunities and Haircuts by Children. It runs June 4-8 at the Waterfront Theatre with a pay-what-you-can performance at 9pm on June 5.

blood.claat, written by d'bi.young.anitafrika and directed by Weyni Mengesha, was produced by Toronto’s Theatre Passe Muraille, winning two Dora Awards, a National Post Solo Phenomena of the Year, and the RBC Emerging Artists Award. blood.claat plays June 4-9 at the Firehall Arts Centre with a pay-what-you-can matinee June 9 at 2pm.

Where the Blood Mixes
Where The Blood Mixes Where the Blood Mixes, a new play by First Nations playwright Kevin Loring, produced by Playhouse Theatre Company and The Savage Society, also has a pay-what-you-can matinee June 14 at 2 pm. This west coast saga runs June 11-14 at the Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre.

Also included as a pay-what-you-can experience is the Celebrity Speaker Series. These encounters are not to be missed—come early for a seat! Advance tickets guaranteeing seating are $20 at Tickets Tonight, or pay-what-you-can at the door. All Celebrity Speaker events are 5-6pm unless otherwise noted. The line-up includes:

We are thrilled to be bringing back the Magnetic Youth Access Pass which offers youth aged 12-19 years of age entry into Festival performances for $2 per show! Some restrictions apply. The Festival reserves 15 Youth Access seats until 15 minutes before every performance, making them exclusively available to Youth Access Pass Button holders on a first-come, first-serve basis. GET THE SCOOP ON THE MAGNETIC NORTH INDUSTRY SERIES!

From June 9 to 12, Magnetic North presents the much-anticipated Industry Series, programmed this year in collaboration with the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres (PACT). Together we are offering sessions on a wide range of topics relevant to all theatre practitioners. With over 350 Canadian theatre professionals in attendance and guests from around the world, the Industry Series will inspire, challenge, and reveal the way towards a vibrant future practice.

Curious about the presenters who will be attending this year’s Industry Series? Looking for an inside scoop and a preview of what opportunities the series may hold? Join us on Monday May 26th at the Dockside Restaurant Bar on Granville Island from 5:30pm to 7:00pm for a casual get-together with Industry Series Producer / Touring Liaison Naomi Campbell and Associate Producer Kirsty Munro.

We will unveil our list of delegates complete with a review of their presenting platforms and venues as well as valuable networking advice to local producers!
