From June 9 to 12, Magnetic North presents the much anticipated Industry Series, programmed this year in collaboration with the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres. Together we are offering sessions on a wide range of topics relevant to all theatre practitioners. With over 350 Canadian theatre professionals in attendance and guests from around the world, the Industry Series will inspire, challenge, and reveal the way towards a vibrant future practice. Five years from now, I know we will see work flourishing that began as a crazy idea at this year's event.

Highlights of this year’s Industry Series include:

Eco-Scene - a comprehensive guide to make theatres and theatre-making greener; and The Perfect AD, Perfect GM - a fun and practical workshop in succession planning. Other(ing our) Theatre is a performative event with some of theatre's best and brightest women that promises to provoke, entertain and enlighten.

Also, how about considering touring before rehearsals even begin: we’ll look how to incorporate some practical considerations - before you've built that monolithic set - without inhibiting the creative process.

Need to get out of the building? Take a trolley ride with Vancouver's site -specific specialists to some of their favourite haunts. Need to stay inside and face off with the critics? They'll be with us. Talk to The New Impresarios making art and opportunities when the most important and reliable resources are passion and imagination.

And, of course, that's not all - more sessions will be revealed in the weeks to come!
