THE LIFE OF WORK
Canada is defined by its vastness and isolation. To keep a show alive, you need to look beyond the hometown premiere, and chart new ground on the touring circuit. How do you develop a work to tour? Where do opportunities for touring exist, and how does an emerging artist develop an itinerary for getting work seen in different regions? Today’s forum will center on the questions of developing and navigating a tour. June 10 from 9am – 12pm Studio 16
GETTING DOWN TO BUSINESS
Nothing kills a project faster then lack of funds. Administrative work, unions, and grant writing can leave any emerging artist’s head spinning. This session’s guests will present information about joining and working with unions, what funding programs are out there, and how to access them. Today, we’re getting down to business! June 11 from 9am – 12pm Studio 16
MODES OF CREATION: CHOOSING THE RECIPE
Finding your best way to develop work can be a challenge. Our guest artists will share their methods and experiences in different approaches to theatre making, and give us a sampling of contemporary modes of creation. June 12 from 9am – 12pm Studio 16
EVERYONE’S A CRITIC
Today we will look at issues in contemporary criticism, in academia, the press and on the web. New technology allows everyone to be a critic through blogging. How do today’s critics help and hinder the work of theatre artists? June 13 from 9am – 12pm Studio 16

DUB POETRY MASTER CLASS WITH d’bi.young.anitafrika
This master class is suitable for anyone who is interested in storytelling be it through writing , performing, directing etc. The storytellers' integrity of this workshop explores the seven founding principles of dubpoetry and dubtheatre: the use of language, rhythm, orality, political content, urgency, integrity, and sacredness as mediums of social change through storytelling. Together, participants explore resources located within an afrikan-oral-storytelling-traditional-herstorical context of critical analysis; promoting the ideas of accountability and responsibility between storyteller and community: the artist as leader and revolutionary keeper of the sacred. Everyone who considers themselves a storyteller is welcome. Come with your stories in heart and some writing material.

BodySchool is an opportunity for professional and pre-professional actors and theatre makers to connect with craft and creativity in a direct physical way. This weeklong intensive will focus on three themes: the actor’s work on their own body, the physical and spatial relationships between performers, and the craft of creating original theatre in an embodied manner. Daniel Mroz, Andy Massingham and Sam Masich will lead this intensive course, offering both a tonic and an opportunity for continuing education to practicing artists, while also providing tools and inspiration to artists at the beginning of their careers.
MAY 18 - 23 WORKSHOP
