Magnetic Encounters gives audiences and artists a chance to get up-close-and-personal with Canada’s fabulous artists: linger over tea with the extraordinary artists in the Festival; take a backstage look at our performing arts greats as they share their stories; engage in a good old-fashioned debate that’s sure to shake things up; and grab a sneak peek into the creative processes of 11 Vancouver theatre companies.
All Encounters events are pay-what-you-can at the door. If you would like to be guaranteed a seat for a Celebrity Speaker, you can purchase a ticket in advance for just $20.

Sip tea with director Sarah Stanley and enjoy her compelling conversations with some of this year’s Festival artists. These encounters take an intimate look at what makes these artists tick, what drives them and how they came to create this year’s shows.
